This is part 2 of Judge a Book by its Cover. Today we are looking at my most recent writing, Destiny’s Flurry. It is a magical journey of the formation of a snowflake but that is not all it is. That is why taking a closer look at this book cover will give some inclination as to what you will find written inside. It is filled with pictures I created using AI technology that enhance the book’s message. Also, it is not a mistake that the people within the book favor my children and grandchildren.
Destiny’s Flurry was written as a rhyming narrative poem that tells a story but, in this case, it tells so much more. The idea for the book came as I was writing Remnants, so I had to jot down the idea and come back and pick it up at a later time. The main character Destiny moves through the scientific steps of what part a dust particle plays in the creation of a snowflake. It is packed with allegories. You will find many within its pages. It can be read by or read to children. We are like Destiny in that our relationship with God can transform us if we let it.
For the more mature audience, in a nutshell, Destiny’s Flurry embodies what the Christian life is about. Once we understand that we have a choice in how we live our lives. Either choosing God’s way or the world’s way will dictate the rest as a flurry of adventures. The ups and downs are always drawing us to an end. Our connections in this life, friends and family, can be some of the best gifts God gives us and sometimes they are disappointments. And yet, we continue to dare to love. A lesson that we have to experience over and over again in life to finally capture its meaning. The truth is that loving others is all that will matter in the end.
We all have a special destiny in this life but all too often we near the end of our life and have regrets for how we lived our life. This discernment normally renews the enthusiasm to live and love with passion. A passion that comes only from the understanding that this life is fleeting and will eventually end. Time is limited. Our destiny awaits. The hidden quest is getting to know God’s transforming power, for it is in Him alone that we are made extraordinary. It is a driving read, right through to the end as whispers of change blow against our face as we look ever forward to what God has in store for us. Oh, the passion ripples if we could learn this much sooner in life.
Therefore, the cover is a map with a compass showing us that life is an adventure that we only get to participate in. Inside the compass, instead of compass points, I chose to highlight Destiny centered as the snowflake she becomes through her transformation. The title, Destiny’s Flurry, outlines the story of Destiny finding her future endeavor in an adventurous journey, her journey’s end too transpires. Thus, a reminder that life is flurrying by us with every second that passes and soon our time will be up. Reminding us to live our lives well by embracing the “Snowflakes Kiss”. It is never too late to have the greatest of adventures.
I hope that you have enjoyed reading about the book covers of my two books. If you have purchased or been gifted one, I humbly request that you review it on Amazon. Among writers, I have found this is the writing beggar’s fate and why you find so many requesting your review. I am truly grateful for your time and your feedback. Feel free to share this newsletter and the books with your friends.
