This last week, I was tired from finishing up my newest writing, and my mind was open to new and inviting pieces of information. I was with my grandson, Jameson, on this day and we had a conversation. He is four and full of wonder and I hold onto those moments with my grandchildren because it is a place where we can dream of what is to come without the blinders that so often hinder adults.
We were engaging in banter when he asked the question, “Can I do that someday?” Understanding that his question came from a body and mind so tiny that he was really questioning whether he could accomplish BIG things. These moments always stop my heart a bit and my feet follow suit. It was a shimmering moment. A moment of connection in which you quiver or vibrate in a faint light of understanding of the enormity of the moment. And I wanted to absorb it in its entirety. For me, these are God's moments, gently confirming that He is near.
These kinds of moments shared with others are isolated and if you are not looking for these tremulous lights, they will shimmer away, missed and forgotten. You see, Jameson’s dream of doing BIG things scared him and he needed confirmation that anything is possible for him. I confirmed, as you already know, with encouragement and excitement.
My newest writing has these same types of shimmering moments within its pages. If these shimmering moments move you too, you are going to really enjoy reading this one. I wish that you will but if you don’t please share this email with someone that might. We all need to be reminded that our hopes and aspirations are about the dreams we have yet to see. And they are never too big!
